Montgomery County is located in southwestern Iowa. It is named for Richard Montgomery, a Revolutionary War General.
The seat and the largest city are both Red Oak.
Main highways through the county include US-34, US-71 and IA-48.
The county borders Pottawattamie, Cass, Adams, Page and Mills counties.
